Growing up in Attock, Pakistan, I witnessed stories of child marriages, domestic abuse, and discrimination against women that many had come to accept as normal. I saw women blamed for violence committed against them, and girls made to feel that education and opportunities were privileges rather than rights.
My understanding of the law and my belief in equality taught me otherwise. I realized that rights mean little if people are coming unaware of them or afraid to claim them.
That realization led me to establish HaqforHer at the age of seventeen. Our mission is to protect women's rights through legal aid, legal advice, and awareness, while empowering women and girls through education, equal opportunities, and advocacy in line with Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.
I envision HaqforHer as a platform where every woman can seek support without fear and where no form of abuse or discrimination is accepted as normal. Our goal is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every woman knows her rights, can exercise them, and lives with dignity, justice, and equality.
